Since I was a child, the financial markets have fascinated me and very often my grandparents would give me stocks as holiday gifts. We would sit together, pouring over the financial pages in the newspaper, watching the progress of my investments, as I learned the importance of planning for the future by saving and investing. It is that type of one-on-one care that all of us at IAG Wealth Partners take with our clients.
While the many valuable lessons about investing and financial management I learned early on interested me, it wasn’t until someone very close to me was taken advantage of by an unscrupulous “advisor” that I pursued financial planning as a career. From that point on I wanted to do my best to help people avoid these prevalent traps. College provided me with the formal education to enhance my knowledge and give me an edge as an honest and trustworthy resource for those seeking financial guidance.
When seeking a financial advisor, I recommend finding someone who listens to you, who is certified and in a fiduciary capacity, and someone you can trust. Don’t let information overloads or the media’s fear paralyze you. A really good advisor will take the time necessary to help you understand every question you have – every time.
