Join the Resolution
For many people the new year is a chance to sweep out the old, start a new chapter, and welcome in the new with open arms. We make resolutions that are intended to improve our lives with better habits, better health, and better finances.
Unfortunately, the luster of the new year tends to fade pretty quickly. It turns out making resolutions is much easier than implementing them on a consistent basis.
Today we are a mere 15 days into the new year, and a very high percentage of those who made resolutions to change course in 2025 have reverted back to the old habits of 2024 (and likely many previous years). Old habits die hard.
It turns out that exercising requires carving time out of a crammed schedule to change into appropriate attire and then use energy you don’t have to physically exert yourself into sweating and being sore the next day. Joy upon joy.
It turns out that increasing your monthly savings requires you to reduce your monthly spending while prices are still higher, which means you can’t always have precisely what you want. Self-deprivation is unappealing to most Americans.
When it comes to making significant changes in our lives, it is simply easier to ramp up creative excuses and invoke self-justification for inaction.
Here at IAG Wealth Partners, we don’t make annual new year’s resolutions. We find them too calendar restrictive for our mission.
Instead, every day we resolve to work with our clients and their other professionals to provide the best possible advice we can based on our clients’ unique circumstances. Every day we resolve to serve our clients with timeliness, accuracy, and care that they deserve. Every day we resolve to make it right if we should, in a disappointing moment of humanity, make a mistake.
These daily resolutions are now in their fortieth year. Hopefully you have also been able to keep all of your resolutions over this time period, especially the financial ones.
If you or someone you care about would benefit from a little more resolve in working toward your financial goals, we welcome you to our resolutions.
