Turbulent Times
The air is warm, and the sun is shining! Well, it was for a week at least. Spring is right around the corner, which means Spring Break is here or near. During this interlude from normalcy, millions of Americans will be flying south, searching for favorable weather and enjoying time with family and friends!
Flying is my favorite form of traveling. The first moments of lift off are always exhilarating, and I can’t help but marvel at the incredible engineering. As much as I love flying, there is one experience I could do without. Turbulence.
It is a rather unfortunate byproduct of this miraculous form of travel, and it causes considerable fear and anxiety to many. Even the most experienced flyers may succumb to its intimidation. Turbulence has many causes, including the weather, geography, and even the heating of the Earth. Regardless of the cause, the feeling of being out of control is unnerving to say the least.
The current market can also be described as turbulent and can feel unnerving. It can cause considerable fear and anxiety for even experienced investors. Turbulence in the market also has many causes. Current questions plaguing the stock market include: What tariffs will be enacted? What effect will these tariffs have? Will the tax bill be passed? How and when will the Russia-Ukraine war end? What do the next four years hold for America? Will inflation persist?
Despite uncertainty, IAG continues to chart a course through the turbulence. We know perceived crises are also opportunities. Turbulence is to be expected in a market that is always growing and evolving. The market continues to churn through information, trying to do the impossible: See into the unknown, the future.
Market turbulence is not the only unknown we are faced with. Everyone has turbulence in their personal life. Unexpected life circumstances affect us all, and we decide how to react. Every day, we must adjust our flight pattern, always choosing to put our best foot forward.

Quote of the week: Mark Twain: “The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn’t it be? – It is the same the angels breathe.”
