Welcome
I consider myself incredibly lucky to have recently joined the IAG family. Every company tries to sell their job applicants on their “incredible workplace culture” but after interviewing with a number of companies during my job search, it was clear to me immediately that IAG was different. They really meant it. Every single one of the partners I met with talked about the family-like atmosphere at IAG. Whether it was taking on a coworker’s tasks when a family member was sick, covering for someone else when their kids needed them, or the countless number of other examples I heard, it was obvious that the advisors and support staff truly cared about one another.
Like most people, I was nervous about starting my new role as the IAG Marketing Specialist. But when I showed up on my first day, I felt welcomed right from the start. I began to get to know the incredible support staff, and each advisor took time out of their busy schedules to sit down with me, welcome me, and go over how they thought I could best contribute to the company. One of the great things I was able to attend in my first week was a retirement party for Gina Haenisch. After 12 years of hard work and dedication at IAG, it was fantastic to see how many people showed up in support. People’s families and loved ones showed up, former employees were there, and you could feel the love and appreciation towards Gina in that room. I could see that the “culture” and “family” lines that many companies use to recruit job candidates was not just something that was said at IAG, it was backed up and felt by the entire team.
As I’m closing in on my third month with IAG, I’ve started to settle in on my role with the team and my place in the office. It’s tough to judge how a job will be only based off a description you see on LinkedIn or a phone call with a recruiter. But luckily, I found a place where everyone works hard, is incredibly caring, and is focused on working towards the mission statement: To guide our clients in making sound wealth management decisions throughout life’s journey so they may fulfill their passions and pursue their dreams. The advisors and support staff work so hard and really care about the clients they support. A ton of work goes into all of it, from client meetings to putting on the big events. But in the end, it’s all worth it.
Looking forward, I’m really excited about my future with IAG. It’s a great work environment where you can grow personally and professionally. Getting to know my coworkers both at work and outside of work has been rewarding. It’s definitely not like this everywhere. I know I can bring a lot to the team and help IAG continue to grow in the future. It’s been a great start!
